They are made of commercially pure titanium, and meet ASTM B861 specifications, with the material designation UNS R50250. Alloy grade 1 of titanium is the softest as well as the most ductile titanium grade and hence suitable in a large variety of industrial applications that require it to be superior when operating under hostile conditions.
They find many applications in the chemical processing industry, cracker plants, desalination, marine applications, heat exchangers and aerospace parts and components and this is because of their excellent performance in the face of oxidizing and reducing media. They have also high weldability, low density, and biocompatibility which qualifies them to be used in medical applications or food processing industries.
